Weddings are traditionally a celebration of love…and what better way to celebrate an upcoming wedding than with those that you love the most! This engagement session was filled with dandelion picking, giggling, eating ice cream and a good old game of scrabble. Throw in some curiosity about geese, a swing on a ufo-shaped disc and some kissing amongst the lilac bushes and it was one fun filled afternoon indeed…

This session was shot inside a snow globe! Ok, not really, but it sure looks like it was!

Jack and Katie met down south, and even though they have both lived in northern climates, it was a lot to ask of these two to go on a little icy adventure! They were very good sports as we traipsed around The Forks and the River Trail to get what you can only term quintessential Winterpeg photos.

It was snowy and warm-ish, and we were able to spend a considerable amount of time out on the frozen river, and we’re glad we did because now, just two weeks later, we Winnipeggers have been suffering through another bout of winter weather that has seen our temps plummet to depths again as cold as the dark side of Mars!

We are excited for you two, happy to see the warmth and love you have for each other, and so glad to be photographing your wedding this weekend!

These two are getting married in 11 days!!!

Obviously, it’s high time that these images see the light of your backlit computer screens!

We had a really nice fall here in Winnipeg. It didn’t get too cold, and we didn’t have snow early. Two things that in my books make it pretty much as perfect as any season that isn’t summer can get.

Back to Trevor & Connie… and Dobbie! We had a great time with these three. The two humans were a little bit hesitant to have their photo taken, but realized soon enough that we weren’t going to put any pressure on them to be anything other than themselves. Really folks, that’s all we want from you. We want you to be yourself whether that be polished or goofy, serious or smiley, sad or happy… we just want you to be YOU! If you know Red Photo Co. you know that we have only ONE RULE: Always be yourself…

Dobbie wanted to be in ALL the photos. So much so that when we tied him to a tree in the forest so we could have a little time to photograph just Trevor and Connie together he cried and barked and made absolutely sure that we knew that he was missing out!

We’re really excited to photograph your wedding soon, and wish you the best day ever!

On this cold, blustery, very Polar Vortex-y feeling morning, this fall session is exactly what you need to look at to make your eyeballs happy and your mind reminisce about just how dang nice it can actually be here in Winterpeg!

Whittier Park is just one of this cities gorgeous green spaces, and it was certainly dressed to impress with the colours of fall in full swing.

Here at Red Photo Co. we like to really prove that we’re willing to do almost anything to get the shot. Coralee, trying to navigate to the middle of some brush, found her lovely long red curls covered in burrs!

Steph & Phil, you two are a pleasure to spend time with and of course to photograph! We’re already looking forward to your wedding in 2015!

Tasty frozen treats (from Sargent Sundae, one of our favourites!), laughing with their son and a jaunt around Assiniboine Park with balloons of the very best colour of all? Yes, all of those things made up Kevin & Ali’s engagement session a few weeks back!

These two are Jenga masters! That tower was so high that there was talk that one of them might have to throw the game so that we could continue on with the shoot! This goes against everything Rob & Chanel, avid game players, stand for. They’ve even got a championship belt that passes back and forth between them depending on who wins the game.

After rescheduling the session repeatedly (due to the rain that was June) we FINALLY got to shoot and it was well worth the wait, we got a fantastically beautiful evening!

Baxter the pup joined us, and immediately stole the show!

We have felt very very lucky this year, it seems that each and every time we finish photographing a session we walk away with huge smiles on our faces because we’ve had the best time with our clients. We really enjoy watching you have fun together, and getting to be part of that fun!

Special thanks to Across the Board Cafe for letting us use your space!

What can be said when a childhood friend asks you to be a bridesmaid AND photograph the wedding?! Well, heck yes of course! This of course is made much easier because here at Red, we shoot TOGETHER! There are always two of us making the day run smoothly for you! So, while I (Beck) get to don a beautiful dress and high heels for part of the day, Coralee will be there catching all the loveliness that is Julia & JP!

I convinced these two to walk to the park after a bridal shower for Julia… and the results were kind of magic. During a year that has seen little in the way of long lovely evenings (the kind we DREAM of all winter long here in Winterpeg), we had the most lovely of evenings…

Can’t wait for your I DO’s and the big dance party to come!
