To be honest, I’m SO much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it so it’s no surprise that I can relate to those that feel the same..but having said that, a good way to get over that anxiety before your big day is to do engagement photos! Justin felt exactly the same way that I do so it’s no wonder that he was a bit apprehensive about being photographed not once, but twice! Thankfully after a while (and just like I said..lol!), he just started to ignore me (which really is the best thing to do anyway) and our trip to the park was followed up by returning to their house, a discussion about where they should travel to next and an impromptu game of scrabble…which is the sort of fun that you just can’t plan!

As you can see from the previous post, Erin is not only a gorgeous previous Red Photo Co. bride, she is the crafty darling behind Emk clothing. Darren & Jolene’s e-session…

When I first met with Darren & Jolene to talk about shooting their wedding this May, Jolene was *beyond* excited about taking their engagement photos..so much that she had very specific ideas about what colours to include, a quilt that was very special to her and what activities we could all include. Needless to say, her enthusiasm was contagious and we were both thrilled at the possibilities and images that were to come. So a few balmy Sundays ago, we met at the Forks to enjoy some skating, hot chocolate and like she put in her Facebook status that day, “it was fun just making out all afternoon!”. When I get to work with amazing couples like this, I truly feel like the luckiest girl in the world!

And now for something a little different. Back in the fall when the colours were turning and the weather was still unseasonably warm, I took a Sunday to go hiking in the desert…or at least the closest thing to a desert that Manitoba offers.

When I first met with Shauna, I must say, she had this amazing strawberry blonde hair and such a sparkle in her eye that I was thrilled to be shooting her and Matt’s wedding! Their celebration definitely had a cosmopolitan flair, much like where they now reside, NY. We managed to incorporate wheat, which was very important for Matt, coming from the prairies himself (and apparently they don’t have too much of in NY..lol), the beautiful fall colours (which were still very apparent despite being early November…yay!) and hopefully these photos illustrate just how much fun we had that lovely November day…
