Around here, we LOVE love! So to honour what we call “Love Month”, we are showing you the LOVE! Our sweetheart specials are surprise deals that last the entire month of February so keep checking back, as there is no rhyme or reason as to when they are announced! Here are two for today…

The day began with a change of plans… a downpour happened at exactly the moment that Ian and Melissa were supposed to see each other for the first time. Not even a down pour could dampen the excitement between these two, and the Millennium Library provided a gorgeous alternative for the first look!
Thankfully the sun didn’t stay away too long, and soon we were outdoors and groomsmen were stepping in puddles and we were all warm and dry.
The Manitoba Club has opened a lovely garden over looking the old Upper Fort Garry, it’s beautiful and provided a fantastic spot for an intimate ceremony.
We love it when couples choose to do things a little differently. Ian and Melissa’s first dance was exactly what they wanted… FUN! These two choreographed a dance to clips from some of their current favourite songs, and it was so much fun to watch because you could see how much fun they were having together! This of course completely falls in line with our philosophy, and rule #1…. Always be yourself!
Thanks you two for having us there to capture your wedding day! We had fun with you, your friends and family and wish you so much more fun together!

When we first met Garrett & Veronica, we couldn’t help but think that lurking under those shy demeanours were two people that not only had infectious laughs, but knew how to make you laugh just by being their witty selves. We were thrilled to be sharing in their wedding day and our first trip to the delightful Hawthorn Estates was worth it, just as we anticipated! Between the purple bowties, constant laughter, random dogs and abandoned barns, the rustic feel of this location charmed us all.

Weddings are traditionally a celebration of love…and what better way to celebrate an upcoming wedding than with those that you love the most! This engagement session was filled with dandelion picking, giggling, eating ice cream and a good old game of scrabble. Throw in some curiosity about geese, a swing on a ufo-shaped disc and some kissing amongst the lilac bushes and it was one fun filled afternoon indeed…
On a cold day in February, nothing could have made you warmer than being part of the intimate wedding and reception that saw Jack and Katie get married here in Winnipeg.
We were honoured to be there to capture the moments and hear the stories. It is crystal clear that both friends and family of the couple alike have fallen madly in love with these two and the stories of their romance were heartwarming and inspiring.
We often find ourselves at the edges of the party (getting the right angle for the photos of course) which is a good thing because most of the time we end up blinking back tears, happy tears, too! We certainly don’t have a long history with the majority of our clients, but the time we spend with you always makes you feel like friends!
Jack and Katie, we wish you all the love!

And just like that it’s February 2015, and Red Photo Co. is back in wedding action for another year!
What’s not to love about a wedding that takes playing games and hula hooping into consideration?! We spent an hour or so at Across The Board a games cafe here in Winnipeg. The wedding party could relax and had a lot of laughs over a game, and we got to photograph all the smiles and silliness!
After apologetically getting the couple to go outside in frigid temperatures earlier in the day, Connie piped up that they’d really like to do a few more snowy pictures before the reception! Of course we said absolutely! This time we took the entire wedding party out onto what constitutes a small hill, at least when you’re in the prairies. It was the highest spot around, and the wind certainly wasn’t kind, but getting a group of friends to huddle up together with a brilliant blue sky and fresh white snow all around does make for a stunning backdrop, photographically speaking!
We’ve had so many laughs with Connie and Trevor while talking with them in the planning stages for their wedding, and I’m sure that Connie is happy to be able to just go home and watch TV after work, now that the wedding has happened!
Thank you for all the laughs, and trusting our ability to capture your wedding day the way you envisioned it!
All the best, and we hope to see you and Dobby again soon!

Our last wedding of 2014 was a beautiful way to cap off the year!
The day was cool, but the sky was blue and the sun was out. We may have nearly turned the bride and groom into popsicles during our brief foray outdoors, but it was worth it!
Fort Gibraltar always provides excellent atmosphere, food and service, and as usual was a fantastic venue for this wedding that centred on family and friends.
We are so happy for you Leanne & Dave, thanks for trusting us to capture your memories!
